Simplify and Begin
Don't overcomplicate it.
This is Fatherpreneur.
The newsletter that's written by a dad with a mustache who's been creating content for 10 years.
In less than 5 minutes, you'll learn quick and actionable tips for how to create content that doesn't suck.
Tip 2: Simplify and Begin
Most people who are just starting their content creation journey overthink and overcomplicate everything.
If you’re overthinking, write.
If you’re underthinking, read.

If you're not sure what type of content to begin producing, the most effective way to dial into your niche is by consuming content you enjoy. A fallacy in the world of content creation is that you have to become an expert before you start creating something.
That is patently false.
"The truth is, most people who say they’re experts aren’t experts."
Here's what you should do right now to publish your first piece of content.
What type(s) of content do you want to start creating? Blogs? Tweets? TikToks? Newsletters? YouTube videos? Twitch streams?
Do these 4 things now and you'll have your first piece of content ready to publish later today:
Pick a platform.
Pick your favorite creator on that platform.
Discover what they do each week to produce content. How often do they post, when do they post, what do they post, why do you enjoy it?
Do exactly the same thing as them.
This might sound a little silly, but I'm serious.
Because you are just starting, you have no audience, and so no one will notice what you're doing at first, but you will begin to narrow in on the complexities of creating, iron out some of the kinks, and get more and more comfortable publishing your content. After a few weeks, you'll be ready to differentiate your content and branch off into your own brand.
Think about TikTok and Instagram Reels. Why do "trends" go so freakishly viral? It's because people are copying each other and the platform's algorithm capitalizes on the trending moment.
The hardest part about creating content is starting. Once you do something once, the second time becomes 100x easier.
Jack Appleby's Content Repurposing Engine
I have an account on virtually every social media and creator platform, and like to experiment with repurposing content across different channels. Someone who does this really well is Jack Appleby.
Consider this tweet:
The same managers that'll critique you in interviews for changing jobs every 1-2 years will give an outside hire more $$$ than an internal promotion.

He turned the tweet above into a 5-second TikTok by taking a screenshot of the tweet and then using it as a green screen background for his TikTok video. He did literally nothing except use his phone's selfie camera and add a quick Billie Eilish music track for 5-seconds, and got 700k impressions and 26k likes.
He then went and took that same tweet and published the exact same words on LinkedIn.
Finally, he took a screenshot of his TikTok feed and went back to Twitter to tweet about this strategy.
My new TikTok strategy is to stand in front of my tweets. 600,000 views in 24 hours

It was a closed loop of content recycling.
Make your content work for you.
When you spend a few minutes (or hours) creating a piece of content, don't limit yourself to one platform or list.
Reuse, Repurpose, Publish, Rinse, Repeat.
My thoughts and prayers are with all the Apple Music users who have to watch everyone on Spotify show their 2022 Spotify Wrapped images for the next 2 weeks.
