OpenAI announced a $6.4 billion acquisition of Jony Ive, the designer who worked directly with Steve Jobs for decades and is primarily responsible for the design — and success — of the iPhone.

Apple’s total market cap dropped by nearly $10B (BILLION) dollars when Jony announced he was leaving Apple in 2019.

He’s that good.

Jony Ive is considered by some to be the most talented hardware designer in the world, and worked directly with Steve Jobs for many years to design the iPhone and other Apple products.

This acquisition marks an enormous shift of OpenAI as they are now deliberately entering into hardware, not just software.

Expect to see AI devices that reshape our reality and transform our day to day lives as much as cell phones did when they were first invented.

The next 12 months will be difficult to comprehend.
